Organic Kawakawa Hydrosol

Hydrosols are also called flower distillates or essential waters and are the product of a special type of steam distillation, which extracts a plants cellular water.

Kawakawa is known for its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties and is therefore popular for treating injuries and wounds – great for cleaning scrapes and cuts.

This hydrosol has a medium-strong scent and is so soothing on the skin!

Preparations made from the mature leaves are used in traditional rongoā in cases of eczema, dermatitis and minor wounds to reduce inflammation.

The inflammatory activity is attributed to myristicin & elemicin found in its volatile oils. Kawakawa is known to prevent infection, soothe pain, increase circulation and aid healing.

This hydrosol is a medicinal water extract of New Zealand native kawakawa leaves. Traditionally used to soothe inflammatory skin conditions, such as eczema, acne, rashes, bites or minor skin infections. 

Suitable for All skin types, especially dry, inflamed and sensitive skin.

Directions Use as a room spray, daily toner or refreshing facial spritzer as often as needed, or to help treat acne and other skin conditions.
