Rosemary Hair Rinse for Hair Growth

Rosemary Hair Rinse for Hair Growth
Rosemary Rinse for Hair Growth Recipe

Rosemary is one of my favourite herbs of all time. Since I was a teenager, I've used Rosemary as a natural hair rinse, for healthy hair and scalp, and I LOVE the scent

Historically, rosemary has been used to stimulate hair growth. In one study of 84 people with alopecia areata (a disease in which hair falls out, generally in patches), those who massaged their scalps with rosemary and other essential oils (including lavender, thyme, and cedarwood) every day for 7 months experienced significant hair regrowth compared to those who massaged their scalps without the essential oils.

And you can easily use fresh Rosemary from your garden! The hair growth effects can usually be fully noticed within 3-6 months.

Rosemary Hair Rinse Recipe

- 1 sprig of fresh Rosemary
- 1 tspn of organic apple cider vinegar
- 1 cup boiling water

Place all the above into a pot and leave to steep until cool enough to use. Strain and pour into a storage or spray bottle.

To use: Add 1 tspn of Rosemary infusion to 1 cup of warm water and pour over your freshly washed hair as a final rinse.

OR, spray your rosemary infusion to the roots of your hair daily.

I also make Rosemary Vinegar and include black tea - for shine, hair growth, oiliness, dandruff and grey hair

Rosemary Vinegar - fresh rosemary sprigs and 1 organic black tea bag in a bottle, add warmed organic apple cider vinegar and seal. The bottle above has lasted for years!

To use, pour 1 capful of Rosemary Vinegar into a 1-cup-size container, add warm water and pour over your hair as a final rinse after washing.

I find it easiest to do this in the shower, but you can also put this mix into a spray bottle and spray to the roots of your hair daily.

Apple cider vinegar can strengthen hair, adds shine and lowers the pH of scalp and hair after washing.

What other herbs do you like to use for your hair??
